"If you do this picture correctly, you'll never have to work for me again."
Wonderful memorial!
I'd be lying if I said I didn't hoover up your links on Corman beforehand!
Peter Lorre's intro in The Raven is a classic.
The absolute BALLS of casting Jack Nicholson as Peter Lorre's idiot son is what I remember most about it - who knew they'd make such a great double act?
Really enjoyed reading this! What an interesting career Mr Corman had. I recently wrote something about him too: https://timedgeworth.substack.com/p/the-astonishing-world-of-roger-corman?r=44736
And I loved your piece on him - I was desperately trying to find a place to put the "burning roof" story. Once you've seen it, you can't unsee it.
Thanks Ray, glad you enjoyed it!
I love that roof, I actively look forward to its appearances.
As a fan of Corman's films, I appreciated this!
A fellow fan! Glad to hear it. Honestly didn't think his death would hit me as hard as it did, but the more you dig, the more there is to appreciate.
